I hadn’t really ever liked Incubus (not sure why I’m saying ‘really’ there) I always thought they were ghastly. Shitty-shit-shit. Terrible band. So, curse of the job, I find myself in a half-full arena listening to this terrible band – this snowboarder’s idea of funk music, as I called it.
The crowd were quite into it – which sorta baffled me. I mean, sure, fans of a band like seeing that band live. But who would be a fan of Incubus when there is so much out there besides Incubus, most of it resembling music?
I got to leave early – but only to attend another gig by another lacklustre band. Can’t even remember who it was now – but I think it was Kitty, Daisy & Lewis. Frying-pan/fire situation.
People got shitty too that I referred to Incubus as nu-metal. I was probably trying to give them just one compliment…
Here’s the review.
Stubs is an occasional feature here at Off The Tracks – looking back through the ticket-stub box and remembering how the show went down.
