Every summer – in that great spot between Christmas and New Year’s (the anxiety is low, so, frankly are the expectations, everyone’s finally relaxed, or relaxing…) I play a wee set of Kiwi music, my favourite songs and pieces by New Zealand artists.
Here’s a playlist from a previous year’s attempt.
It’s good fun. The bar is open – but there’s no New Year’s Eve hype, it’s a chance to get out of the house after maybe too much time with family…sit back and relax and enjoy some great tunes. That’s the way it’s intended.
This year I’ll be playing my Kiwi Music DJ Set up at the San Fran in Wellington, on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 – their first night back open after the Christmas holiday break.
So come on down, from 6pm, to enjoy some drinks specials and a spot on the deck listening to some of the brand new favourites from this year (SJD, Nadia Reid, Don McGlashan, Anthonie Tonnon and, well, heaps of things, really). Then of course there’s all the old favourites, including some old-old favourites. The new collection from Larry’s Rebels might even have to get a wee spin this year…
Come along and find out. Bring your family members – if you’re still on speaking terms – or sneak out and skip away from them for the night.
A nice, relaxed vibe – some of your favourite songs, and loads of my favourite tunes…little slices from heaven; little slices of heaven…something for everyone.
