Samuel Scott to open Robert Forster’s Wellington Show: Thurs Nov 10 (2016)

robTo add to the excitement of what will surely be a great show – Robert Forster of The Go-Betweens playing a cabaret-styled set at Wellington’s San Fran next Thursday, November 10 – it’s just been announced that the opening act is Sam Scott of The Phoenix Foundation and Bunnies on Ponies.

Samuel Scott has been shortlisted for the Apra Silver Scroll award four times and won numerous New Zealand music and film awards. Recently he worked on the soundtrack for Hunt for the Wilderpeople and co-produced the brand new Dave Dobbyn album. His work with The Phoenix Foundation and Bunnies on Ponies is loved, perhaps particularly for the songwriting. So this is a rare opportunity to hear some of those great tunes stripped back to their basic ingredients.
