RNZ Reviews: September 2021

Once a month or so I have a chat on RNZ on their Afternoons show with Jesse Mulligan. I’ve been doing it for about five years now. Most months. This was my first time in for 2021.

This month I talked about two records from artists that have written their own songs but were here paying tribute to one other living songwriter. Tribute albums – but with the songs rearranged to suit the style of the new singer.

First up was Jim Keller’s latest, By No Means and I played the song I Don’t Want To Fight Anymore.
Next up was Patricia Barber’s new one, Clique! and I played her cover of Stevie Wonder’s All In Love Is Fair.

Click here to hear the chat and the songs.

As,always you can read my throughts on the Jim Keller album here or click here to read my take on the Patricia Barber.
