RNZ Reviews: October 2020

Once a month or so I have a chat on RNZ on their Afternoons show with Jesse Mulligan. These things start – randomly and stop in much the same way. I hope to keep doing this. For a while at least. I think I started in December of 2015, so now four years into  it or so…

For October I talked about two great new albums that I’ve been playing a lot. First up I talked about The Bobby Lees and their new album Skin Suit.

I played the stonkingly good track, Riddle Daddy.

Another of my favourite albums from the last month or so is Daughter by Lydia Loveless. I’m in awe of the songwriting here. Good peformances and singing too – sure – but it’s been about the writing for me. That’s what I’ve enjoyed most.

So I played the song Wringer. And talked a bit more about that album.

As is usually the way, I’ve written about both albums already too. So to read my review of the Bobby Lees you can click this link. And to read my review of the Lydia Loveless you can click right here.
