RNZ Reviews: March 2021

Once a month or so I have a chat on RNZ on their Afternoons show with Jesse Mulligan. I’ve been doing it for about five years now. Most months. This was my first time in for 2021.

This month I talked about two cool new albums I’ve been playing a lot.

First up the latest album from The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, I Told You So, a funky old-school organ trio from Seattle. And I played the instrumental Fo’ Sho’.

Next up was the new collaboration album between veteran folk guitarist Leo Kottke and bassist from the jam-band Phish, Mike Gordon – it’s called Noon. This is their third record together but first in 15 years. And I played their cover of Prince’s Alphabet Street.

As ever, you can read my online full album reviews of Delvon here and of the Kottke/Gordon here.
