I’m usually on RNZ once a month to have a chat about some new albums. But the other day I got the call up to present a Music Feature for the Afternoons show.
This topic was Music-related novels – books written about music and musicians that are not biographies, not non-fiction. We played some songs and talked about books by music journalists and musicians – but they’re novels and novellas. We talked about books by prize-winning novelists that reconstruct some of the aspects of a real musician’s life but using fiction.
So maybe I’ll get another chance, down the line, to smack my lips together and blow – talking about whistling or anything else. There’s so much more that can be said on this topic of course – but here’s what I said.
