April means Record Store Day and this year it’s Saturday, April 21. Our friends at Slow Boat Records always put on a terrific day with instores and the very best of the Limited Edition Record Store Day-only vinyl reissues and special releases.
In previous years they’ve hosted Neil Finn, Tami Neilson, Dave Dobbyn, Anika Moa, and others. They’ve opened up the store to the community – as all good record stores do on this day made for celebrating the idea of the Record Store, made for celebrating the music and celebrating with music.
This year Slow Boat will host Mermaidens and Tiny Ruins
The store will open at 9am, with a great selection of vinyl including titles from the list of special releases.
At 2pm Mermaidens will take the stage in-store for a run at some of the songs from their fabulous 2017 release – and then after 3pm Tiny Ruins will play.
As always Slow Boat will run a raffle and offer some spot prizes. And then the store will close at 5pm.
It’s gonna be a great day.
