April means Record Store Day and this year it’s Saturday, April 16. Our friends at Slow Boat Records always put on a terrific day with instores and the very best of the Limited Edition Record Store Day-only vinyl reissues and special releases.
One of Slow Boat’s first “big name” Record Store Day in-stores was Dave Dobbyn. He promised to return – and said he’d do it with a new record in tow. So, for the official vinyl launch of his Harmony House Dobbyn will play at Slow Boat for this year’s Record Store Day. He’ll be backed by a band as he plays a selection of hits and songs from the new album.
And Wellington’s great Orchestra of Spheres will play their weirdly wonderful swirls of groove ahead of the release of their brand new album, Brothers and Sisters of the Black Lagoon and their lengthy European tour.
Once again Slow Boat Records is putting on a great Record Store Day.
For more details check the event page on Facebook or visit Slow Boat’s site, or of course drop in and see them. They’re in Cuba St, Wellington.
