95bFM & David Roy Williams Presents…PP Arnold live in concert, Auckland’s Powerstation, Sunday, May 20 – her backing band features Tim Rogers on guitar and vocals, Andy Kent on bass, Russell Hopkinson on drums, James Black on keys and Talei Wolfgramm on backing vocals.
Arnold is one of the great voices of the 1960s – a former Ikette, she has worked with Small Faces, The Nice, Rod Stewart, Barry Gibb, Eric Clapton, Humble Pie, Nick Drake, Dr. John and more.
In the 1980s she worked in musical theatre and throughout the 80s and 90s she has appeared on many classic recordings, including Roger Waters’ Amused To Death (she has also toured NZ as part of Waters’ band) The KLF, Boy George, Primal Scream and Oasis.
Then of course there are her own iconic performances on classic songs like The First Cut Is The Deepest and Tin Soldier.
Late last year the incredible album, The Turning Tide, was finally released.
This will be one of the concert events of the year. Not to be missed.
With her memoir soon due for publication and a new album in the can, co-written and produced by the Ocean Colour Scene’s Steve Craddock and also including a couple of tracks written by long-time supporter and fan Paul Weller (who also sings on one of the tracks), 2018 promises to be a big year for PP Arnold.
