Peter Frampton: Live In Detroit

Frampton DetroitPeter Frampton

Live In Detroit

Eagle Rock Entertainment

Re-released on blu-ray and regular DVD, this concert from 1999 was originally issued on VHS/DVD in 2000 – filmed in high def it’s been a fan-favourite, a solid show that draws on the obvious Frampton Comes Alive Hits (Something’s Happening, Lines On My Face, All I Wanna Be, Penny For Your Thoughts, I’ll Give You Money, Baby I love Your Way and, natch, Do You Feel Like We Do) and has Frampton in fine playing form.Frampton Live iN Detroit

Whether it’s a necessary addition to your collection – even if you’re a Frampton fan – would seem dubious given the earlier release of the Frampton Comes Alive 35 show.

But the playing is great, the band is sharp, Frampton’s likeable, affable, and given the new energy he had in the wake of Frampton Comes Alive II he’s certainly nailing the songs here.

But I’m wasting my breath. I know. Not many people give Peter Frampton a chance these days.
