Thanks all for reading, 2013 was the first full year for Off The Tracks, we launched this site in November of 2012, a reboot of the original Vinyl Countdown blog with added content. It’s swiftly turned into my spot for reviewing, leaving the Stuff blog – Blog On The Tracks – for discussion posts, rants, previews and such.
So here at Off The Tracks I’ve been reviewing albums and books and gigs and movies – I’ve added a few new interviews this year, offered some giveaways, had a rant or two about freelance writing.
And the aim is for all of that to continue in 2014 – and to add more.
As 2013 draws to a close we welcome our first advertising partners to Off The Tracks. We will look to add more in the new year.
I’ll be adding new content each and every day.
I reckon 2013 was a great year for music – one of the best in my time reviewing albums. It was so hard to create a top 10 list and even to make a long list of all the great albums I heard during the year. But of course there was also a lot of duds. And they’re kinda fun to write about sometimes.
Off The Tracks will always tell you the truth – my truth, my opinion. No lazy PR-speak here, no obviously in-bed-with reviews that simply name songs and tell you something is wonderful because the lyrics were printed inside the CD booklet. I’ll do my best to not compare every single thing to Nine Inch Nails also.
I’m hoping to cover more gigs in 2014 – including my local acts.
So a Merry Christmas to you all and all the best for the New Year. And my thanks for your time, your input. This site is a home for my words, my passion, my interest in music. But it only works because of you: the readers.
All the best to you and yours for the year ahead. And I hope, wherever you are/were and whoever you are, you had a wonderful Christmas today.
