Kim Richey is touring New Zealand later this month, she’ll play Wellington’s Bodega on February 19, Masterton’s King Street Live on February 20 and Auckland’s Tuning Fork, February 21.
Richey’s a Nashville based singer/songwriter who has released over half a dozen critically acclaimed albums (her most recent is 2013’s Thorn In My Heart). She’s had her songs appear in movies and TV shows, and they’ve been covered by the likes of Trisha Yearwood, Brooks and Dunn and the Dixie Chicks. She sang backing vocals on Ryan Adams’ best song – Come Pick Me Up. She’s toured with the likes of Richard Thompson and Mary Chapin Carpenter, worked with Shawn Colvin and Radney Foster.
Richey’s a class act singer/songwriter – check out her tune Those Words We Said. Head back to that phenomenal self-titled, debut album (from 1995). Check out anything else she’s done.
She’ll be worth seeing live.
