– Star Wars: It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships striking from a hidden base have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon the DEATH STAR, an armoured space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet. Pursued by the Empire’s sinister agents Princess Leia races home aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save her people and restore freedom to the galaxy…then heaps of really awesome shit happens.
– True Romance: I don’t know enough cool words to express how cool this film is. It’s just…so cool.
– The Cable Guy: I love this film. I love that a lot of people don’t love this film. I love that it’s dark and Jim Carrey is nuts. There are so many great scenes, the family game of charades, the fight at Medieval Times, the karaoke party…they just keep on coming. And Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller do great cameos. I love this film. I even love Matthew Broderick and usually Matthew Broderick bores me. My pals and I will quote this film forever.
– The Princess Bride: Once upon a time I took a bunch of friends to the outdoor cinema to watch The Princess Bride. I’d already seen it half a dozen times, maybe more, but there were a lot of newbies and there was a lot of questions. What the hell is this film they asked? But after the sword fights and magic pills and love, true love, there were a lot of new fans.
– Boyhood: What a load of rubbish. What a waste of time, couldn’t they have made it interesting, like you have this kid growing up on screen, then do something kid!! The Dad’s car was pretty cool, but that was about it. Anyway, I still have this bloody film cos the library has moved due to temporary renovations and I can’t return it due to their new temporary opening hours and they don’t have an after-hours drop off slot thing. So yeah, this film really has stayed with me.
