Next weekend, May 6-9 is Featherston Booktown – one of the coolest literary festivals going. And I’m very lucky and honoured to be one of the poets on the bill for the Pop Up Poetry. On Saturday and Sunday there’ll be Bookseller Stalls in the Anazc Hall (9-4 Saturday and 9-5 Sunday). On the Saturday there’ll be Pop Up Poetry – the line-up is incredible. Check the picture below or the link above to the website (and see all the other events).
In five-minute sessions the poets will be sharing a poem or two from their book or latest work and then reading a favourite poem from a book they find in the hall on the day by one of the sellers. So it might be an oldie or a brand new work by another New Zealand writer. Cool idea eh?
The line-up features Michael Fitzsimons, Paula Green, Richard Langston, ME (!), Jackson Nieuwland, Helen Rickerby, Vana Manasiadis, Sam Duckor Jones and Ben Brown.
