DJ Setlist: Govett-Brewster Gallery 50th Birthday After Party, Saturday February 29, 2020

I’m a big fan of the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery over in New Plymouth there. So what a great honour and treat to be asked over to play some tunes at the end of their street party. The Govett-Brewster is celebrating its 50th Birthday – the people of New Plymouth were out in the street with various bands playing throughout the afternoon and early evening – and I was there to play some tunes in the atrium at the end of the evening. So I did. And here are the name of those tunes and the artists that recorded the versions I played:

1. The xx, Intro
2. DJ NuMark & Paomo, Imagne
3. Average White Band, Pick Up The Pieces
4. Booker T. & The M.G.’s, Green Onions
5. Lee Dorsey, Night People
6. Aaron Neville, Hercules
7. Esther Phillips, Hound Dog
8. Jaco Pastorius, Come On Come Over
9. Sam & Dave, Hold On I’m Comin’
10. Baby Huey & The Babysitters, Listen To Me
11. Dr. John, Right Place Wrong Time
12. Stevie Wonder, You Haven’t Done Nothin’
13. Jessie Hill, Ooh Poo Pah Doo (Part 1)
14. The Temptations, Ain’t Too Proud To Beg
15. The Zombies, Time of the Season
16. Ella Fitzgerald, Sunshine of Your Love
17. The Bar-Kays, Knucklehead
18. Bo Didley, Bite You
19. Curtis Mayfield, Pusherman
20. King Curtis, Memphis Soul Stew
21. The Buddy Rich Big Band, The Beat Goes On
22. Donny Hathaway, Jealous Guy
23. Trini Lopez, If I Had A Hammer
24. The Chips, Rubber Biscuit
25. The Brotherhood, The Monkey That Became President (Part 1)
