I spent most of April on a borrowed computer which, in this day and age, makes reviewing music quite tricky. So a lot of the album reviews this month were about me catching up with stuff from last year still – more so than other months. That said, I got to a few brand new releases too. I reviewed a lot of DVDs this month, a couple more episodes of the podcast…and did a bit of DJing. It was a busy month – the end of it emotionally hijacked by the death of Prince. But music is a solace, always. So I’ve tried to plough on. There were a couple of flat-out-fucking-terrible albums I reviewed in April. But lots of good things and a few really great things. There are 20 album reviews in this month’s digest.
So click here for the best albums I reviewed in April.
You’ll find reissues, compilations, EPs and live albums – as well as full-length studio releases. Most of the material here was released in 2015/16 but in some cases it was released in 2014 and only made it to me this year – or I only (finally) got to it this year.
