Following on from March’s burglary it was a lean month review-wise in April. Very lean. Impossible to connect with new music and write about it really, borrowed computers, no devices, stereos in cars or lounges only, no computer nearby. I busied myself writing anything else really. But a dozen or so album reviews still made it onto Off The Tracks and there were half a dozen – or just over – really strong albums. Including a couple of Album of the Year candidates. And some strong local releases among them.
So fingers crossed I’ll hit it a bit harder, review-wise, in May. And on from there.
You’ll find reissues, compilations, EPs and live albums – as well as full-length studio releases. Most of the material here was released in 2014/15 but in some cases it was released in 2013 and only made it to me this year – or I only (finally) got to it this year.
