D’Angelo To Play One NZ Show: NZ Festival, Wellington (March, 2016)

DANGED’Angelo will perform a special one-off concert at the New Zealand Festival on 17 March, 2016.

Following last year’s release of “comeback” classic, Black Messiah, D’Angelo brings his tour to Wellington to perform at the TSB Arena for his one New Zealand show, a late addition to an already impressive NZ Festival line-up.
New Zealand Festival Artistic Director Shelagh Magadza says D’Angelo is an
exciting addition to an already exceptional 2016 NZ Festival line-up announced in October.

“We were recently presented with an opportunity to host D’Angelo at the festival inAPPROVED FOR ALL ARTWORK TRU1335397 PR March, and we couldn’t pass it up.  His extraordinary talent has been compared that of James Brown, Marvin Gaye and Prince and this one-off performance in Wellington is bound to thrill fans of soul, R&B, hip-hop and gospel,” Shelagh says.

D’Angelo’s Voodoo and Brown Sugar are acknowledge modern R’n’B/hip-hop classics. Black Messiah was released and instantly the 14-year gap between albums was swallowed. D’Angelo will likely deliver a knockout set, a highlight of the local 2016 gig-going calendar.
