Just had my first listen to the new album, Tomorrow’s Harvest. It’s great. And it had me recalling – straight away – falling under the spell of Boards Of Canada many moons again thanks to Music Has The Right To Children and Geogaddi. I collected up a few of the EPs and the re-releases of the early recordings but it was those two albums that I went to. When The Campfire Headphase and 2006’s EP, Trans Canada Highway were released I started to lose a bit of interest. But Music Has The Right and Geogaddi always pulled me back in.
The album stream I’m listening to – which I can’t share (sorry) features made-up titles; song-names that aren’t on the official release. But you can find the tracklisting in a few places; I guess this is to stop writers sharing favourites, leaking titles…
I like a bit of this mystique/hype/caution though.
Here’s Reach For The Dead. A sample to hook you in.
The album is released in New Zealand this Friday, June 7. CD and double-gatefold LP. Get there!
