The Better Off Read podcast has continued across the last few years. But recently Pip has started a “Sound Series” – 10 episodes dedicated to discussing aspects of sound. She pairs two writers or musicians to chat about music, writing, sound and to discuss a chosen sound, be it a song or a recording of a household sound, a daily or found sound, anything from rain on a roof to boiling water for cooking rice. Many of the guests have chosen songs.
I was paired with my friend (and a previous podcast guest on my show) Carl Shuker.
It’s the most recent episode of Pip’s show. So I’m sharing it here in case you want to check it out. I chose a song. As did Carl. And those songs are there in the notes attached to Pip’s podcast. As is a playlist of some of the other songs mentioned in our episode and in some of the previous episodes. Better Off Read is a great listen – but in particular I’m loving the sound series. I’ve listened to the previous five. I look forward to the remaining episodes in the series. And I’m honoured to be a part of it. So check out episode 6 of the sound series, episode 78 of Better Off Read.
