Anika Moa hits the road for a NZ Tour this September and through to the start of October – and she’ll be taking SJD with her. Sean Donnelly will be playing solo acoustic (his first time around the country in this guise, fantastic).
Moa will be taking with her the songs and styles from her most recent album but will be playing a selection of the other
Despite my feelings that the album is half-realised at best, and not her strongest material I am keen to see how it works live; I have a feeling it could be a lot better – she’s a great performer. Obviously there’s banter, her stage persona is part of the act, but it’s a thrill to hear that voice and the strong catalogue of songs.
The tour starts in Whangerei, September 4 and winds up a month later in New Plymouth having passed through Queenstown, Dunedin, Wellington, Auckland, Oamaru, Masterton, Wanganui, Golden Bay, Lyttelton, Blenheim, Timaru, Cooks Beach and Hamilton.
She’s always worth seeing.
