Break It Yourself
Andrew Bird’s music is a beguiling blend of baroque folk and slightly agitated indie-pop, fans of Kiwi Andrew Keoghan might want to hear the source he so liberally dipped into and took from.
Bird’s music should appeal also to fans of Sufjan Stevens and it’s less busy, less frenetic.
This is his sixth solo album. There are three albums with his side-project Bowl Of Fire also.
Bird’s writing feels literate and earnest and across guitar, violin and whistling (yes!) he shows a dazzling flair and dare for taking melodies to interesting new places.
