Jakob, Sines (2014)
I have written about Jakob a lot – in fact I’ve even written about this album a lot – I reviewed it, I wrote a bit interview/feature as well – later we revisited that and most of the band’s career in a podcast with guitarist Jeff Boyle and there have been a few gig reviews around this album too. I love it. I love that band. Favourites now for a long time. But I never got around to buying Sines on vinyl. I’ve fixed that. Only just. An early birthday present – a music voucher – saw to that. A good day. It felt ceremonial playing it (the vinyl) for the first time. It should almost always feel like that when you’ve just bought a brand new (expensive) record. Actually, no matter the cost – one of the big things about vinyl for me, and hence the Vinyl Countdown, is making the time to sit and listen to it; to listen to music for the sake of listening to music. The glorious, joyous sake of it.
Sample Track: Harmonia
The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
